My First Ride

Tonight Andrew and I rode his motorcycle to our ward activity. We figured since it was a beautiful day in Seattle and we only live a few minutes from our building, it would be a perfect night for a ride on the motorcycle....after our disastrous joy ride a few weeks ago! On our way home, Andrew decided to take me on a little adventure. A few weeks ago he discovered a mud pit near our house. He likes to call it a dirt bike track, I like to call it trespassing. After a few rounds of riding with Andrew in control, he decided to give me my first dirt biking lesson. It was very reminiscent of my dad teaching me how to drive a stick...."you have to let off the clutch and SLOWLY hit the gas". I've always been a bit of a lead foot, so I guess you would say I am also a lead wrist. I hit the gas a little hard, lost my balance, and tipped over in the mud. I'd like to report that was only time I landed in the mud, but it wasn't. I forgot to mention one important fact; I wasn't very prepared for my first ride. I was wearing shorts and flip flops...not the best riding gear. When we got home there was so much mud on my feet that even the hose on the jet stream setting wouldn't take the mud off. I can't say I'll be entering the X Games anytime soon.
